Getting moving on the Christmas gifts

I signed up for Crunchy Chickens Hand for the Holidays challenge this year. This isn't my first year doing hand made gifts.  Last year my Mom and I decided to do as many home made gifts as possible.  I made hats, scarves, dishcloths, socks and lots of baked goods.  This year I'm doing the same.  I've already done one item for my brother's girlfriend, but have lots to do.

This is the start of a market bag that I'm making.  The kids are wanting to have their own, so I may be making quite a few of them.  The handle on this is scaring me a little.  I've never done an I-cord before, so there will probably be lots of frogging happening before the final product is finished.  There are still lots of other things to be made as well.  Is anyone else working on gifts already?

I'm living on the edge and trying my first hats.

I may have to give alcohol instead. Or even better, WITH. 'Cause then my stuff will look a little less pathetic.

:)

I've thought about it but haven't started anything yet.

Meadowlark, hats aren't too bad. Are you doing them on circular needles? I keep trying new things, but I'm still not half the knitter that my mother is.

Farmer's Daughter, there is still time. I'm sure you're exhausted with the pregnancy.

I just don't do crafts. All of my sisters are beautiful artisans and so any little pathetic thing I would create would look like a poorly made pottery ash tray next to a Michelangelo sculpture.

By mutual agreement we are not going to be exchanging gifts with my brothers and sisters other than my sister who I spend alot of time with (she's a good friend too). I wish we could get to that point with my husbands side of the family but his mom adores Christmas and get's very put out if we don't all play along.

My idea of crafting involves popsicle sticks and lots of glue, so I will have to be happy buying crafts that other people make as gifts. But, hey, at least I'm supporting other crafters!

Don't ask me my feeling about knitting. Every time I've ever tried it, I want to stab myself in the leg with the knitting needles b/c I.just.don't.get.it.

But, you are so inspiring.

Yes circular and I just posted the finished results and the wips.

Not as terrible as I had suspected. :)
