Hi, my name is Heather and I have a seed problem.
Does anyone else have a box like this? It started out innocently enough. I had a few seed packets. They got organized a bit into groups. It looked neat for a while.
Then I kept ordering seeds. They're an addiction I think. There is always something new and wonderful to try. I really should go through my seeds each year and see what I truly need, but I don't. Some of the seeds in there are quite a few years old. Who knows if they will even sprout. There are multiples of certain seeds, where I forgot that I had more left and went ahead and ordered more. I can't bring myself to throw any away. I also can't seem to bring myself to stop buying seeds. Help!

I know exactly what you mean - I get carried away and buy seeds that arrive free on magazines two weeks later - Ive got enough tomato seeds to start my own market garden! -I am intrigued by whats in your stash though, cant wait to see them growing x
HAHA! I have the entire door to my freezer stuffed with seeds!!
I have one of those and no there is no cure for this addiction.
It's nice to see I'm not alone!
*Raises hand*
I bought ten more packets today. OK, so I didn't need them.....but they were 50% off!
Anyone up for a seed swap? :) My space to plant is so small I couldn't use a whole pack of seeds in three years! So I swap mine with others. But yes, my name is Amy and I am a seedaholic...
Hahaha, I was just thinking to myself that I need a new seed box! Mine is getting quite out of control also! It is a sickness!
I got ruthless and threw out any more than three years old.
Time to fess up, me too! To my credit, I ordered less this year than last. The goal is to eventually order none at all, but what fun is that?
My seed box, BTW, looks just like yours. :)
Well, it's a better addiction then buying tons of shoes!!
I am to the point that I don't even look at the seed catalogs anymore!! If I do...I may buy more!
You are all cracking me up. We're all seedaholics.
Oh you must go through it every year. I do. I toss the really old. Do germination tests on the ones that are questionable. I give away the ones I don't want anymore. Then I buy way to many more. More than I can use. I never said I was perfect.
Ha! My box of seeds often ends up looking like that - especially towards teh end of the gardening season. However, each winter I do a seed invnetory/clean out before I place seed orders. It helps me to remember if I have a lot of seed for an item (and hence discourage me from buying alot more of it) and I clear out the questionable or really old seeds. It usually looks okay for a while then afterwards... but not for long!
