This pack contains seeds for a complete garden. They are all sealed up for you and will keep for 5 years without any work from you. If you put them in the freezer, they'll keep for at least 10. This pack contains many of the same seeds that I use every year. They are all open pollinated, non GMO seeds. Some of my favorites are Detroit Dark Red beets, Waltham Butternut squash and Black Beauty zucchini. All of them are proven winners in the garden and will feed your family quite well.
I know lots of us have the box of seeds. If they are like mine, they are loosely organized and have way too many. The beauty of this package, is that you will have enough of the right seeds if there were ever an issue and you couldn't get seeds for yourself. I'm learning to save seeds, myself to prevent any issues in the future. Many are easy to save, but there are quite a few that are difficult.
To enter, please go to Hometown Seeds and see what they have to offer. Then leave me a comment telling me if there are any seeds in the pack that you've planted before, or are interested in. I'll draw the winner on Friday. The Survival Seeds packet will be mailed directly from Hometown seeds. Make sure that in your comment you give me an email address, or link to somewhere that I can contact you.
What a wonderful giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI looked over the seeds & have tried my hand at the Kentucky wonder beans, the rutgers maters, the nantes carrots, and I've actually ordered the Lincoln peas to try this year!
I don't even know if you could get them across the border of if they'd be confiscated along the way.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool idea this is! Of all of them, I've only tried Kentucky Wonder beans, because I have quite a shady yard; not great for veggies. But if I had to, I'd find somewhere to plant them! (A neighbor's yard? Community garden?) Thanks so much for the chance.
ReplyDeleteYolo Wonder Pepper
ReplyDeleteThose green peppers grabbed my eye as soon as the page came up. I love using bell peppers in everything from breakfast to supper. Thanks for the link from HT.
I'm glad you all are enjoying the giveaway. It is neat to think about all the wonderful things to be grown.
ReplyDeleteLast year we grew tomatoes, although not Rutgers in particular... but it's the bloomsdale spinach that looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGiveaway is awesome! I have no clue what I have planted in the past! At least not the veges ... but I can say I've had succes from the perennials!
ReplyDeleteI have only been on my homestead for 2 plantingseasons and one of those I was out of comission with a back injury and hubby said he could not do it all. This year I hope to be planting everything in raised beds to make it easier for us all. But the list is so long of things to purchase goats things feed for all the animals etc etc love the fact that these are non mutated seeds If I buy a cantaluope at the store and eat it I should be able to plant the seeds but I guess this is another big buisness you must buy from us tactic!!! If I win it may end up planted this season as $$ are runing short for groceries this year and would love to provide my family with yummy fresh veggies now if I could just get the 3 year old to eat them!!
ReplyDeleteI have tried the zucs and I like them. But I havent done the rest but I would however love to try the rest. I would love to expand my garden this year so I hope to do it. Thank you for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI've tried the rutgers tomatoes but none of the other varieties in the package. All of it sounds very interesting to try though! The giveaway is awesome!
