Harvest Monday

This week is much the same as the past few weeks.  I'm picking the last of the first planting of Cascadia Sugar snap peas, some Winter Density lettuce and a few more garlic scapes that weren't ready before.  Things are really starting to get going now.  Hopefully that will mean a more interesting harvest in the coming weeks.

Today I'm off to replace the sprinkler and hose feeder that seem to have disappeared from my shed.  The veggies need a good feeding of fish emulsion now, so they'll get that this evening with the watering.

Check out the other harvests at Daphne's Dandelions Harvest Monday.

  1. I was picking some of the last of the Cascadias too. I'm hoping that I will get another flush as they send out side shoots, but I'm not sure with all the heat we have been having.

  2. I love Cascadia sugar snap peas - they are so tasty, and in my area keep producing for a long period of time too.

  3. How do you find the taste of winter density? Ah peas, one of the best things about this time of year... and strawberries.

  5. Your peas look great1 I am still harvesting peas, too. But not lettuce anymore. I am jealous of all of you who still have lettuce.

  6. Ottawa, the winter density is good. It isn't as crisp as I would like a cos to be, but the taste is good.

Robin, they're a huge favorite here. I can never seem to plant enough.

Angela, the lettuce is really surprising me. I thought it was about to bolt, but it's still holding it's own. We're having some very warm lettuce, so I'm sure it will bolt very soon.

Thomas, the Winter Density is tasty, but not as crunchy as I would have liked.
