But Snickerdoodles are great. the best thing is that you don't need raisins or chocolate chips. So when you are out of everything you can still make Snickerdoodles. BTW I don't have shortening in the house either. I use half oil, half butter when they call for it. It seems to work well. Though pure butter tastes the best.Daphne Gouldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17305049560953735881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4987757052468794779.post-71684921974167154202010-12-01T09:09:27.952-05:002010-12-01T09:09:27.952-05:00Grew up eating Snicker Doodles, Ranger Cookies, No...Grew up eating Snicker Doodles, Ranger Cookies, No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal cookies, and Toll House Chocolate chip cookies. They all individually are "comfort" food for me as they represent a large span of my childhood eating.kitsapFGhttp://www.modernvictorygarden.com/apps/blog/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4987757052468794779.post-7944098112216354102010-12-01T08:39:59.924-05:002010-12-01T08:39:59.924-05:00I too love snickerdoodles, the whole family loves ...I too love snickerdoodles, the whole family loves them. They're yummy either way!

Leigh, I've seen the organic shortening and heard it works well. I don't seem to have her recipe, so I'm bookmarking this one.

The only shortening I use is organic palm shortening. It is not hydrogenated and therefore has no transfats. Plus it gives all my baked goods a yummy taste. I've done like Mrs. Rabe, and used hardened coconut oil too and that works well. Of course, I have no issues with butter either!Leighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02435811789823712254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4987757052468794779.post-64109132710966588902010-11-30T15:49:20.308-05:002010-11-30T15:49:20.308-05:00That recipe looks suspiciously like Toll House coo...That recipe looks suspiciously like Toll House cookies without the chocolate chips :-)Karen Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13306986336556283751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4987757052468794779.post-78450906908485628552010-11-30T15:08:02.497-05:002010-11-30T15:08:02.497-05:00I grew up eating snickerdoodles.
